Dr. Rosa

DVM

Dr Rosa graduated from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She practiced large animal medicine in New York at the Cornell Ambulatory Clinic, and then in New Zealand as an equine veterinarian in the Massey University Equine Clinic (an equine referral hospital). She has also worked as an FEI veterinarian at equine endurance events. She now does a mixture of companion animal and equine practice at our clinic and enjoys patients of all shapes, sizes, and species! Her interests include medicine and lameness, with a particular interest in sports medicine and dentistry. In addition to her veterinary training, she also completed her Ph.D. on the role played by exercise in the developmental origins of health and disease and completed postdoctoral studies in veterinary pharmacology.

Dr. Rosa relocated to Alberta in 2012. She currently holds an appointment as Assistant Professor of Veterinary Pharmacology at the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. She enjoys teaching, research, and clinical work and appreciates the opportunity to combine all three in her current position.

When she is not working, Dr. Rosa enjoys horseback riding, hiking, skiing, biking, and enjoying the beautiful Alberta scenery with her family.
